Leeds, UK and Vernon, NJ (August 7, 2023) – 501 Fun, a global leader in social entertainment technology, announced that 501 Darts Augmented Reality, its flagship augmented reality darts product, is now available in Vernon, New Jersey’s The Glenwood, a recently-renovated rustic restaurant and English-style pub with a game room.
501 Darts AR is at its core a physical darts game (complete with steel-tipped darts) that automatically scores and projects video game-style graphics directly onto the board itself, transforming the competition-grade dartboard into a screen that reacts to darts thrown in real-time. It’s a new darts experience that carries the centuries-old game into the present and expands its appeal to include younger, tech-savvy players and darts fans of all ages.

Boom Battle Bar is one of the dozens of locations across Europe and Australia that have served as a proving ground for 501 Fun’s take on the next era of darts. Partnerships with high-profile UK partners including Gravity Active Entertainment, Lane 7, and Funlab in Australia have helped developers refine the gamified darts experience into an investment proven to boost overall guest spending, increase food and beverage sales, and cultivate an atmosphere of group camaraderie and friendly, energized competition known in the amusement industry as “competitive socializing.”

The Glenwood recently opened its new game room, The Underground, and debuted three 501 Darts AR lanes and two additional lanes featuring 501’s other breakthrough darts product, 501 Darts Interactive, with instant automated scoring and rich video game graphics presented on a big-screen TV.
“Our patrons are floored when they go down into The Underground and see the 501 Darts boards,” Robertson said. “They’re blown away when they play, just like I was.”
