Key launch sees new proprietary hit approach a sell-out in the US
September 26, 2024: Bandai Namco Amusement Europe is celebrating the worldwide popularity of its Tom & Jerry Kitchen Chaos air hockey table ahead of the iconic cartoon’s 85th anniversary.
Featuring the world’s most recognised animated brand, the themed product is perfect for the whole family and features multi-pucks for added excitement. Throughout the game, dozens of pucks are fired out onto the playfield at once, challenging players to frantically score as many points as they can.
The multi-puck feature that has been a key feature in driving the product’s popularity with players was pioneered by Bandai Namco with the release of the globally successful PAC-MAN Smash machine in 2012.
This pedigree in game development the market and the widespread appeal of the branding has seen demand for Tom and Jerry Kitchen Chaos sweep across the UK, Europe and the US, with the game almost sold out in the latter.
It has proven a significant hit with players, delivering income more than 50% higher than standard air hockey machines across several locations during initial testing.
One of the world’s leading cruise lines has also placed a significant order demonstrating its early success and resonance amongst players worldwide.
Its latest air hockey product's successful launch and strong performance is a further example of Bandai Namco’s expertise in developing proprietary products leveraging the power of globally renowned IPs.
Steph Jones, Digital Design Manager at Bandai Namco Amusement Europe, said: “When it came to selecting an IP for a game as challenging, fun and chaotic as this multi-puck air hockey table, Tom & Jerry was the perfect choice.
“Warner Bros. informed us of the iconic pair’s upcoming 85th anniversary in 2025 and with solid brand credentials worldwide, it was a dream to design an amusement product featuring this mischievous pair. It has been extremely rewarding to see how well the game has been performing since its launch. Operators can see the game for themselves at IAAPA Europe in Amsterdam on stand 8373.”
