Ronnie Weston will attempt to score 1m points with just five lives in aid of Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity
September 06, 2024: Bandai Namco Amusement Europe, the coin-operated amusement machine supplier, has teamed up with Guinness World Record holder Ronnie Weston for his biggest challenge yet on the world’s largest PAC-MAN machine.
As part of the event, Ronnie and his friend Martin Lewis will attempt to win a combined score of one million points in a single game on the world’s largest multi-player PAC-MAN arcade machine in aid of Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity.
Ronnie will then try to bag the same score in a solo round, hosted by Hollywood Bowl at the Lakeside Shopping Centre, in Grays, Essex, on 8th September. The venue has given both competitors access to their centre for practice sessions ahead of their attempt.
The competitive gamer first discovered his love of arcade games in 1979 and has since developed an affinity with Bandai Namco’s cult yellow mascot. He has completed an impressive line-up of challenges featuring different sequels of the iconic game, raising £5,000 for charities, including the Willow Foundation, Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital, as well as the NHS.
The pair have already surpassed 70% of their £1,000 initial fundraising target for their September challenge, with less than a week to go.
