August 23, 2024 – Chicago, IL - Stern Pinball has just released a thrilling new code update, version 0.94.0, for its JAWS Pro, Premium, and Limited Edition pinball machines. This update introduces an exciting new challenge mode—JAWS: The Revenge—inspired by the classic 8-bit gaming era. Fans of the game can now dive into this intense mode, where they take control of a shark seeking vengeance on the bounty hunters that are constantly on the hunt.

The JAWS: The Revenge Challenge Mode is available as a Game Mode option for those who are logged into Stern’s Insider Connected platform and have earned enough Shark Teeth to play. Players must navigate through various phases, each with its unique set of challenges, all while managing the shark’s health and collecting bounties.

Key Features of JAWS: The Revenge Challenge Mode:

Health Meter

• The health meter decreases with each drain, and once it’s empty, the shark loses a life (ball).
• Replenish health by hitting the Quickshot gate when the Yellow insert is lit or by spinning the Ship Wheel on the upper playfield (Premium models only).

Phase 1 - Eat Swimmers

• Take down swimmers across the 5 main beach shots using the Action Button, and watch your Growth meter rise with each successful chomp.
• Fishing and Police Boats will appear as threats, requiring precise shots to destroy or evade them, impacting your shark's health and the progression of the game.

Phase 2 - Bounty Hunter Showdown

• Attack the Bounty Hunter by shooting at the Boat/Shark Cage, with green arrows marking 1X damage shots and combos delivering 2X damage.
• Watch out for the Bounty Hunter’s barrels, which come with severe penalties but can be removed by leveling up your shark or defeating the Bounty Hunter.

Phase 3 - Bonus Round

• Collect bonus points for each swimmer and boat destroyed, and watch your shark evolve through various levels, from Mako to the ultimate Great White.

Phase 4 - Shark Alley

• Control your shark with the Left and Right flipper buttons to devour swimmers while avoiding fellow sharks. Time is of the essence in this fast-paced phase.

Players can also unlock a Power Up by shooting lit Drop Targets, making the shark invincible and doubling the damage dealt to Bounty Hunters. As you progress through increasingly difficult levels, the ultimate goal is to survive as long as possible, racking up bounty value along the way.

And, just on the horizon, the final challenge looms—when your bounty reaches $10,000, prepare for a confrontation with Quint and The Orca in the Final Boss Battle, coming soon in a future update.
